10/28/2023 EnchantaVaughn Approved 1.Behavior: QMHP-C greeted JaCarei upon arrival to the home setting. Upon arrival to the home setting, JaCarei appeared to be in a good mood. QMHP-C informed JaCarei that this session was going to consist of a family session to include his mother to strengthen the communication skills between the two of them and those who are in authority. 2. Behavior: JaCarei participated in the session with his mother as he presented behaviors that consisted of withdrawal as he looked away from his mother and QMHP-C to engage in activity with his sibling. Once redirected he was fully engaged in the session. 1.Intervention: QMHP-C engaged JaCarei in a therapeutic activity on feelings and communication to teach JaCarei and his mother about appropriate ways to be more assertive and being mindful of needs. QMHP-C processed answers and observed JaCarei's and his motherâs communication toward each other. 2. Intervention: QMHP-C processed through open dialogue their responses toward each other and enlightened JaCarei and the mother both on how their verbal and physical aggressive behaviors impacts their relationship with each other. QMHP-C examined JaCarei feelings in session so that his mother can identify with him the anger that he displays and his frustrations. 1.Response: JaCarei and mother struggled with communicating effectively as the mother appears to be controlling and had to be redirected on several occasions. The mother struggled with actively listening, while JaCarei tried explaining reasons for his frustrations. While engaging JaCarei in the therapeutic activity JaCarei responded well as well as they were able to verbalize some concerns. JaCarei had difficulty with confronting his mother as he shared that his mother gets upset when he expresses certain things 2.Response: JaCarei feels that once his mother becomes upset it's very difficult for him to talk with his mother. Through open dialogue JaCarei needed much support from QMHP-C with verbalizing his feelings and thoughts. JaCarei was able to listen to his mother without getting upset as his mother discussed him defiant behaviors in the home such as talking back and refusing to clean his room etc.
